Hello and welcome to the Cardiff NLP Practice Group. We are a group of individuals from many different backgrounds who share a common interest in NLP. We meet on a monthly basis to do what our motto above says: to learn, teach, share and enjoy our knowledge of and experiences with NLP. There's no club to join and no cliques just a shared sense of curiosity about how human beings behave.
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. Neuro meaning of the mind, Linguistic meaning related to the words we use and the meanings they have, and Programming meaning understanding how we are able to do the same things again and again and creating new habits that give us more of the things we would like such as confidence, concentration, relaxation etc.
NLP is based on a number of assumptions not least of which is the idea that anything one human being can do, any other human being can also do provided he/she wants it enough and is prepared to work at it. Within our group we have another assumption which is that everyone has something to teach and something to learn.
In our monthly meetings we discuss and practice some of the key skills involved in using NLP such as the ability to get on better with people and understand what is going on with them. We welcome anyone with an interest regardless of their level of experience and we pride ourselves on our supportive approach. Everyone makes mistakes whilst learning new things and the willingness to make those mistakes is to be applauded and encouraged.
